In 2015 I had a mid-urethral Sling, fitted at this hospital. In retrospect I now know I’ve been suffering from mesh complications, ever since then. Over the last two years or more I have been back and forth on numerous occasions,to the QE, Katie rd walk-in centre and my local Gp with mesh complication symptoms. On one occasion I needed an abulance , it came and off we went to hospital. The medics told me my pain was just period pain and made me feel stupid and like a time waster! Dr Qureshi , Gynaecology clinic, when asked about mesh ( mid-urethral sling) his response was “ I don’t know what that is !??” My response to his ignorance was “ then please refer me to someone that does know! A specialist mesh removal clinic so as not to waste anymore of my time or the NHS money!” I’m in too much pain to be messed about and lied too, 2 1/2 Years is long enough!
Can't fault the facilities or the staff in any way
Again, in my experience only one word is needed FANTASTIC!!
I was unfortunate enough to visit the Q E accident and emergency dept Mon 10th Oct and was looked after by a Doctor Kenan Dehne who was very professional and got me sorted out with the help of his colleagues it was actually a pleasure to meet him he treated me like a human and not just another patient.
I hope this message is read by the management at the QE because this guy needs a pat on the back and recognition for his services.
Regards,
Richard Hughes.
The nurses on consultations At the breast clinic are lovely, caring, empathetic and reassuring.
The nurses on east wing in preparation for my operation were also friendly and calming.
The night shift nurses on the east block / cancer unit were unkind and unsympathetic.
Everything about the hospital and treatment was excellent. Only problem I had was waiting around for 5 hours for my treatment. Everything else though I cannot knock it. Fab hospital / treatment and 5 star doctor and nurses
I felt all staff within the hospital were very caring, enjoyed their work and took pride in their profession
Nurses need to give patients more respect and not treat them like children and do their job properly. If they not wan to help patients them they shouldn't be in that job role.
I have been treated here for the past 18 month, could not fault any of the treatment or care I have received. From surgery to chemotherapy and radiotherapy all has been excellent from all departments I have encountered.
I was transferred here by blue lights in the middle of the night and stayed for 2 nights. Could not have asked for better. New bright airy hospital with great staff. Porters chatty and cheery. Had one auxiliary who was a bit off and bossy but I just smiled sweetly and let it go over my head which seemed to defeat her. Each and every one of the other staff were excellent and I was updated and informed at all times.
